Image of Apprentice at WorkGillibrand Accident Repair Centre is one of the leading Insurance Approved Repairers in the North West. Established in 1859, the business has evolved from their origins as a wheelwrights and blacksmith, via a century of building and painting motor bodies, to become a leading Accident Repair Centre for the Insurance Industry.

Recruiting

We place great importance recruiting Apprentices, simply because the Apprentices of today are the skilled workforce for the future. Providing the candidates are suitable, we recruit some trainees for our Apprenticeship Programme each year, preferably as soon as they have completed Year 11 at school.

We offer Apprenticeships for the following areas of the repair process:

  • MET (i.e. Mechanical, Electrical and Trim)
  • Vehicle Body Repair
  • Paint Refinish

Training

The training and assessment of the Apprentices is done in conjunction with Training 2000 in Blackburn. Apprentices attend Training 2000 on a day release basis, working towards NVQ level 3 in either Vehicle Body Repair or Paint Refinish, or NVQ level 2 in MET.

Training 2000 is recognised nationally as one of the best training centres in the country and we are fortunate that it is located no more than 250 metres from our site.

In October 2005, Training 2000 opened a brand new Motor Vehicle workshop, fully equipped with state-of-the-art equipment, following a £1.5m investment.

You will find further details about Training 2000 and Modern Apprenticeships on their website which is www.training2000.co.uk
